This is about sunny, breezy afternoons, curled up on a blanket in the California Hills, enjoying the beautiful shapes of the hills and watching the clouds form, reform and change overhead. It’s about utter relaxation, being in the moment, and enjoying simple pleasures. I exhale deeply just thinking about it.
This was commissioned by a lady who had a great view of the California Hills before she had to move to another home. Now she can take the view with her. 💙
It was so fun to paint this undulating landscape with the trees and bushes nestled into the curves. I loved making the forms feel three dimensional. Since I have a background in sculpture, this was a delight.
