All Those Little Dreams (SOLD)

This is called “All Those Little Dreams” because it’s about the dreams I had of being a professional artist when I was a child. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so when I saw this scene it made me think of the sky as a holding place, where all our dreams float up and collect themselves together. I don’t think they ever die. Instead they grow with lightness and energy, forming, reforming and waiting for us to bring them into our physical reality. I felt so moved to realize they were waiting for me this whole time, even when I had lost my way.

My children were there with me when I took the photo for this painting. More than anything I want my painting practice to show them they can dream whatever they want and make it happen. My daughter came up with the name "All Those Little Dreams".  It is a wonderful thing to share with her.
