“Eternally Free”

This is about clouds flowing lightly and freely in an endless expanse of mountains.

Description

This painting is called “Eternally Free”.  It’s of a view that I saw when I hiked to a pinnacle in the Blue Ridge Mountains near my home.  I was so inspired by the playful, undulating clouds.  They felt so light and free and the mountains felt so eternal and endless.  All these qualities together remind me of the human soul at its best – free, joyful, and eternal.  It resonated very deeply for me.  This is why I wanted to paint it.

It is also a love letter to the Blue Ridge Mountains and all the people who live there.  Since we went through the Hurricane Helene disaster, I feel closer to everyone who lived through it with me.  When I painted this, I wanted everyone who is recovering to know that deep down, our spirits are still as light and free as those clouds.
