Where The Song Begins (SOLD)
This painting is about the feeling in your heart just before you burst into song. It's the same feeling you have right before taking any kind of inspired action - hugging someone, beginning a new project, contacting an old friend. The love wells up and suddenly you want to act on it. This was also a new step for me in technique. This is my second painting where the color was fully added on with glazes. The colors were so complex and subtle that I knew I needed to glaze the entire thing. It started with a black and white underpainting and then slowly lots and lots of different glazes were added. Then afterwards, the detail gets added. It's a long but very rewarding process. Many thanks to Edward Row for letting me interpret his photograph. He climbed on top of a bus shelter to photograph this sky right after a storm. Isn't that wonderful?
